Mountain Welding is an established manufacturer of industrial production systems with more than three decades of experience in the design and production of resistance welding systems.

The company currently focuses on fully and semi-automatic shock absorber lines and rim wheel assembly lines, drawing on extensive experience serving customers across diverse industrial sectors.

In 1992, Mountain Welding started with one core fundamental technology: the welding machine.

Since then, Mountain Welding has expanded and manufactured more than 2,000 welders for the automobile, agriculture, household appliance, architecture, and railroad industries. This manufacturing depth reflects long-term capability in delivering production systems built for consistent quality, reliable operation, and strong production performance.

The company’s resistance welding systems are used in the production of shock absorbers, wheels, fuel tanks, ring gears, drive shafts, drive bearings, rear axles, and other critical components. With proven application across high-demand industrial environments, Mountain Welding has built its market presence through experience, equipment volume, and adoption in a wide range of end-use industries.

What is Projection Welding?

Projection welding can be seen as a modified variation of spot welding. During the process, two or more pieces are joined together by applying heat and pressure to welding points.

Advantages of Projection Welding

There are many advantages of using projection welding over other welding methods:

  • Versatility: The essential parts of projection welding are manufactured to suit specific purposes and the welding process can be adjusted according to material and component's intended use.
  • Production efficiency: One of the reasons projection welding is widely used in many industries is high production efficiency. Two and more welds can be completed at one time.
  • Various thicknesses: Compared to spot welding, projection welding can handle the welding of thicker metal pieces and can also be used for thin components like spot welding.
  • No need for filler material: Unlike traditional welding methods, projection welding requires no filler material, thus reducing material costs.
  • Clean finishes: Projection welds are also less visible than spot welds, giving a more visually pleasing look.
Spot Welding vs. Projection Welding

Both welding methods have their advantages and can be used in various situations.

  • Spot welding is easier and faster. The spot welding process is particularly useful for the welding of thin components and can be highly automated.
  • Projection welding promotes good heat balance and is more suitable for thicker components. The projection welding process is well-suited for high-speed production situations.
